# Environment Setup

## Overview

Remote offers three different environments to support your development, testing, and production needs. Here's an overview to help you decide which environment is the best for your use case.

## Partners environment

| :--------- | :-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Purpose    | Designed specifically for API partners, this environment is the main space for development, integration, and testing. |
| Deployment | Code is deployed to the Partners environment **after** it is live in Production.                                      |
| Ideal for  | API development, integration testing, and partner demos.                                                              |

## Sandbox environment

| :--------- | :-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Purpose    | A demonstration environment for all clients (Partners, Employers, Investors, etc.)                                          |
| Deployment | Code is deployed to Sandbox **before** it is live in Production, often containing latest features ahead of general release. |
| Ideal for  | Sales demonstration, client showcases, and exploratory testing.                                                             |

## Production environment

| Purpose    | The live environment where customers and partners interact with Remote's services.        |
| Deployment | All code is deployed to Production once everything has been tested in other environments. |
