Company creation, activation & Hiring Eligibility

This section outlines key processes on the Remote platform: creating, activating a company and ensuring compliance with EOR (Employer of Record) hiring eligibility.

Remote API partners can create a company and obtain the necessary access tokens in a single request. By providing the required parameters and accepting Remote’s Terms of Service, partners can streamline the company creation process and immediately gain access to manage the newly created company.

To activate a company, you must include the required address_details schema along with other key parameters. Activation alone doesn’t grant immediate permission to hire; depending on the company’s location and hiring countries, additional documentation or payment reserves may be needed. Customers also have the option to directly wire payments, bypassing billing details. The company’s active status can be checked via the company creation response or the Show Company endpoint. Partners can subscribe to the company.activated event for real-time updates on company activation.

After activation, companies may need to meet further eligibility checks to hire employees. Remote signals these checks through webhooks categorized into three levels:

  • Green Signals: All checks are passed, onboarding can proceed.
  • Yellow Signals: Employer action is needed to unblock the process.
  • Red Signals: Checks have failed, and hiring cannot proceed.

These signals provide clarity on the onboarding process and guide the necessary next steps.

By following these processes and subscribing to event notifications, companies can smoothly navigate activation and compliance while staying informed about their hiring status in real time.
